— our projects

–> ARTIVISMO – Youth initiative of international exchange (21 participants, from 15 to 30 years old) Youth in action, SCI Catalunya (YUWG group)

Participants from Bulgaria, France, Italy and Spain met in Barcelona in August 2009 to experience a different way of living more consciously and find tools to express them, creaCtively. This project was supported by the Youth in Action Programme.
Based in the cosmopolitan multicultural metropolis, they shared different visions on how being a responsible and engaged citizen, making art and upcycling our environment. Through a participative and inclusive methodology, we determined how to give our impulse for a pacifist society.
Concrete examples of the activities
– workshop: from tetra brick to wallet
-talks on different ways of recycling in the countries
-discovering of this initiative from the Autonomous University of Barcelona: a waste treating centre look upon the received material to select what is in state of use, repair what can be repaired and stock the products on the
-prioritize the human value in any activity implementation and proceed necessities the same way. Food is a need to be filled, but not only the result is important (obtaining food), also the way to come to it. The energy people from a community project put in cooking for the group made the food taste better and the meals time feel more enjoyable.
What they said after the experience
“I never thought, it is possible to live in such a simple way, full of harmony and cohesion and be so accomplished, self actualize. Happiness is close.”

–> creativity playground “trials & errors”

this was the first step of the creative revolution,
which started for us on the “upcycle all you can” training course in derry, northern ireland. (a blog with pictures and short films from the upcycling project in derry you will find under: https://fromtrashtotreasure.wordpress.com/)

the project involved participants from portugal, germany and poland and took place on september 18-24, 2009 in ökolea, klosterdorf, berlin, germany. it was supported by the Youth in Action Programme, action 4.3.

in our creative revolution we care and act for more primary creativeness (inspired by a.h. maslow), meaning more playfulness, fantasy, childishness, emotions, letting loose and going crazy in every day life.
we want people to more actively and consciously make decisions in their everyday life and have the feeling of ownership over their life, the society they create and are a part of and mankind in the end.

it might sound a bit crazy, big and idealistic, and i guess this is what we’re doing…

we feel we need a change.

below is the more formal summary of the project:

“Trials & errors” is a Training Course on creativity as a tool for coping with challenges, difficulties and problems.
It aims at:
– promoting the use of creativity as a tool to combat prejudice and support youngsters in coping with difficulties and problems
– supporting the participants in establishing deep contact with themselves, their creativity and with the group
– offering the experiencing of creative processes and reflecting over them (with a special on focus trails & errors and failing)
– offering space for discussing and experiencing the differences in perception
– exploring the theories of creativity and culturally various understandings of it
Methods used for achieving these aims support self-organisation, trust in the group process and a holistic understanding of creativity. They include a wide range from drawing, through creative writting and flow dance to theoretical researches and precise action planning.
The project collects participants from Poland, Portugal and Germany. The project took place planned between 18 and 24 September in Ökolea, Klosterdorf.
